Lesson Policy

Lesson Structure

Lessons are available for students of all ages, skill levels, and instruments. Instruction is tailored to each student’s individual goals, musical interests, and learning pace.

Lessons may take place:

In-studio
Online
At the student’s home (travel lessons available)

Tuition & Payment

Lesson fees are due in advance according to the agreed payment schedule (weekly or monthly).
Payment reserves the student’s lesson time.
Accepted payment methods will be provided upon registration.

Travel Fee (In-Home Lessons)

For lessons held at the student’s home, a travel fee of $0.20 per mile will be charged based on round-trip distance traveled. This fee helps cover transportation time and expenses.

Cancellation & Make-Up Policy

Notice must be given before the scheduled lesson start time to cancel or reschedule a lesson.
Lessons canceled with proper notice may be eligible for a make-up lesson, based on availability.
Missed lessons without notice are considered forfeited and are not eligible for refund or make-up.

Late Arrival Policy

If a student arrives late, the lesson will still end at the scheduled time.
If a student has not arrived, the teacher will attempt contact and remain available for 5 minutes after the scheduled start time. After that, the lesson will be considered a no-show.

Teacher Cancellation Policy

If the teacher must cancel a lesson:

The lesson will be rescheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time, or
A free lesson credit will be applied if rescheduling is not possible.

In the event of a teacher no call/no show, the student will automatically receive one complimentary lesson of equal length.

Practice Expectations

Student progress depends on consistent practice between lessons. Practice assignments and goals will be provided to support steady improvement.

Materials

Students are responsible for purchasing required books, instruments, and materials unless otherwise discussed.

Communication

Parents and students are encouraged to reach out with questions or concerns at any time. Open communication helps create the best learning experience.

Agreement

Enrollment in lessons indicates agreement with all studio policies listed above. Every effort will be made to remain fair, flexible, and respectful of each family’s time.
